Videolite Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Short version: Videolite doesn’t collect anything. Your videos never leave your Mac.
What Videolite does with your files
Videolite reads the videos you give it (by dropping them on the window or Dock icon, using Finder’s Open With → Videolite) and writes a smaller copy on your Mac, next to the original, or in your Downloads folder if you turn that setting on. If you turn on “Move originals to Trash when done”, it moves the original to your Trash. That’s the only thing it does with your files.
What Videolite collects
Nothing.
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No network connections. Videolite does not connect to the internet: not to upload your videos, not to check for updates, not for anything else.
What stays on your Mac
Videolite stores a few preferences locally on your Mac using standard macOS settings: the two options in Settings and the window position. They never leave your Mac, and deleting the app (and its preferences) removes them.
Price
Videolite is free. There are no purchases, so no payment information is ever involved.
Children
Videolite collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
